SMALL GROUP AND PRIVATE JIU JITSU LESSONS FOR KIDS

Looking for
Solutions?

In today's fast-paced and increasingly digital world, children often face challenges that require a holistic approach to their development. Issues like sedentary lifestyles, lack of physical activity, diminished self-confidence, bullying, and difficulties in emotional regulation can hinder their overall well-being. However, our jiu-jitsu lessons offer a transformative solution.

By engaging in the dynamic and empowering practice of jiu-jitsu, kids not only develop strength, coordination, and fitness but also gain valuable life skills such as self-defense, problem-solving, discipline, and self-confidence. Our classes provide a supportive and inclusive environment where they can build resilience, forge meaningful connections with peers and instructors, and learn how to navigate challenges with determination to thrive both on and off the mats.

FAQ

Where is the training located?

We understand that parents are busy, so we offer flexible training locations to make it as convenient as possible for you and your child. Our training can take place at a local gym we've partnered with or even at the comfort of your own home or your organization's meeting place. We bring our own mats when we train off-site, but please keep in mind that the availability of this option might be influenced by factors like the weather and available space. Our main aim is to provide a friendly and accommodating training experience that fits seamlessly into your schedule.

Is my child at risk for injury?

We prioritize the safety and well-being of every child in our jiu-jitsu program. While jiu jitsu inherently involves physical contact, we have comprehensive safety measures in place to minimize the risk of injury. We create a safe training environment by teaching proper techniques, good form, and emphasizing the importance of following safety guidelines. We also ensure that exercises and drills are age-appropriate and suitable for each child's skill level. Additionally, we encourage open communication with parents to address any concerns and provide guidance on injury prevention.

What is the age range?

Great question! We offer jiu-jitsu training for a wide range of ages, with a focus on providing age-appropriate instruction and a supportive environment. Here's the breakdown: Younger than five: Jiu-jitsu training for children younger than five can be a bit tricky due to the developmental stage and attention span of young children. We recommend exploring other physical activities and programs specifically designed for their age group at this time. Six to fifteen: This age range is perfect for our kids' jiu-jitsu program! We offer specialized classes that cater to the developmental needs and abilities of children in this age group. Our experienced instructors are skilled in teaching jiu-jitsu techniques in a fun and engaging manner, promoting skill development, discipline, and confidence. Sixteen and older: For teenagers aged sixteen and older, we encourage participation in our adult jiu-jitsu classes. This allows them to train with individuals in a similar age range and progress in a more challenging setting suitable for their physical and mental development. We believe in providing a positive and inclusive training experience for children within the appropriate age range. If you have any specific questions or concerns about the age suitability for your child, please feel free to reach out to us. We're here to guide you and ensure the best possible jiu-jitsu journey for your child!

Is this available for groups or organizations?

Absolutely! We offer jiu-jitsu training for groups and organizations, providing a fantastic opportunity for collective learning and team building. Whether you're a school, community group, or any other organization looking to introduce jiu-jitsu to your members, we can customize a program to suit your specific needs. We can conduct training sessions at your preferred location, whether it's a gym, community center, or any other suitable venue. We can also bring our own mats to ensure a safe training environment. Group sessions promote teamwork, communication, and camaraderie as participants learn and progress together. To discuss the details and tailor a program that fits your group or organization, please contact us. We'll be thrilled to work with you to create a memorable jiu-jitsu experience that meets the goals and requirements of your group. Let's embark on this exciting journey together!

Is previous experience required?

Not at all! We welcome kids of all experience levels to join our jiu-jitsu program. Whether your child is a complete beginner or has previous martial arts experience, our training is designed to cater to individual needs and progress at their own pace. Our experienced instructors are skilled in providing guidance and instruction tailored to each child's abilities. We believe in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can learn and grow. So, whether your child is taking their first steps into the world of jiu-jitsu or already has some background, they'll find a place to thrive and excel in our program.

What equipment is needed?

We provide the mats for training, ensuring a safe and comfortable surface for your child to practice jiu-jitsu. As for the classes, we offer both gi and nogi options. Let's break it down: Gi Classes: In gi classes, your child will wear a traditional jiu-jitsu uniform known as a gi. The gi consists of a jacket, pants, and a belt. It allows for a wide range of grips and techniques, emphasizing control and leverage. NoGi Classes: In nogi classes, your child will not wear a gi. Instead, they will wear comfortable athletic attire such as rash guards and grappling shorts or leggings. Nogi training focuses on techniques that don't rely on grabbing clothing, emphasizing agility and speed. In addition to the gi or nogi attire, we highly recommend that your child wears a mouthguard during training sessions. A mouthguard can provide an extra layer of protection for their teeth and jaws, reducing the risk of potential injuries. If you or your child have any further questions regarding the equipment needed or anything else about our classes, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here to provide all the information and support you need to ensure a fantastic jiu-jitsu experience for your child.

What if my child has special needs?

We understand that each child is unique, including those with special needs, and we are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all. We believe that jiu-jitsu can be beneficial for children with special needs, as it promotes physical fitness, discipline, confidence, and social interaction. However, the suitability and adaptations required may vary depending on the specific needs of your child. To ensure the best possible experience for your child, we recommend discussing their specific needs with our experienced instructors. They can provide expert guidance and insights based on their training and experience working with children with diverse abilities. By understanding your child's individual requirements, we can tailor our approach, exercises, and teaching methods to accommodate their unique needs and create an enjoyable and safe training environment. It's important for us to have an open and honest conversation about your child's needs, goals, and any concerns you may have. Together, we can determine the best course of action and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that your child can fully participate and benefit from our jiu-jitsu program. Please feel free to reach out to us so that we can have a detailed discussion and develop a plan that meets the specific needs of your child. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive community where all children can thrive and grow through the practice of jiu-jitsu.

Can parents join?

Yes, parents are welcome to participate in certain contexts. We understand that training together with your child can be a fun and rewarding experience. We offer private lessons where parents can train alongside their children, strengthening the bond and enjoying the benefits of jiu-jitsu together. If parents would like to organize a specific parent-child class for their organization or group, we can certainly accommodate that. It's a great way to engage and connect with your child while experiencing the excitement of jiu-jitsu as a family. However, we do not allow parents to join regular classes for coaching purposes. Our expert opinion is that when parents take on a coaching role, it can often lead to distractions for the children and create a tense environment. It's important to maintain a clear instructor-student dynamic during classes to ensure a focused and productive learning atmosphere. We appreciate your understanding in this matter, as it allows us to provide the best learning environment for all children involved. If you have any further questions or would like to explore the options available for parent-child training, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to support and guide you on your jiu-jitsu journey with your child.
